The Boomer's bile is considered a rare delicacy in many countries throughout the world. A group of people known as gatherers arrange expeditions into the quarantined zones in order to collect it. Due to the high risk involved, Boomer bile is very expensive and only affordable by the very rich, much like caviar. The US government is afraid that the export of bile will spread the virus to other countries, and do their best to to stamp out the gatherer organisations.
